BLOCKS FOR A YOUNG BOY

Today is Easter Sunday and a beautiful day. I have been outside doing some yoga positions while watching my poodle, Lexe, sniff all the delightful places around the yard. Dogs are such amazing creatures and she is an exceptional one. She is bright as a button and I swear she knows exactly what I am saying and would respond if she only had vocal chords. That may be just an imaginary wish on my part but she acts like she knows what is said. So far she hasn’t learned how to crochet but it’s not because she hasn’t been exposed to the hooks and yarns. She is right there next to me on the couch constantly watching—when she’s not snoozing that is. I just finished a tri-color block blanket for a young boy. It turned out nicely but I think it would have been better if the blocks could have been sewn together invisibly. I haven’t mastered that technique yet. I don’t even know if there is such a technique with multi-colors like this. Anyway, the black sets it off and I’m sure he will like it. He is 8 years old and likes bright colors. His grandmother requested this for him so he is loved. I have a few projects to finish up and then I will begin crocheting for charity to use up my extensive yarn supply which is well over 100 skeins—about 500 ounces of yarn and that’s being conservative because many of the skeins are larger than 5 ounces. Oh well, I have lots of time ahead of me, hopefully!!!! For now I am off to watch the golf tournament and work on a baby gown.
