BED SKIRT FOR RAVELYMPICS

Well, this is a first for me. I'm making a bed skirt for the challenge created by ravelympics. The www.ravelry.com website is sponsoring an olympics for crocheted and knitted projects. I signed up to make an afghan and started it during the opening ceremonies. So far I've finished 22 inches across and have about 22 inches more to do. It is 77 inches long so it will be quite a big skirt. They call it a skirt because it just goes across the bottom of the bed from side to side but this one will extend up the bed at least half way. I'll just keep going until I use up the yarn. It's made with Bernat Tapestry from my stash so it will also reduce my yarn closet. Yes!! Here's a partial of the project. You can see the beginning row of the pattern has a row of clusters making a space between. It gives a nice texture to the 5 rows of single crochet between the 1 cluster row.

Loving this yarn colorway. I'm going to have to get some. It's intereting that the varigation is creating striped rpws of light and dark purples. Can't wait to see the final product.
